These are the updates from our project to support refugees and migrants.
I personally apologise for the delay. I travelled to Colombia to understand the challenges of the peace process and reintegration of guerrilla soldiers. More on that in a few moments.
All right. These are our updates:
We found a sustainability model in the creation of a Media Company. Its purpose is to help Hispanics learn how to start and grow their businesses, by democratizing the access to entrepreneurship and business knowledge.
We are starting raise seed capital. If you are interested in learning more, please contact us.
Next week I’ll be meeting with a dozen FARC (Colombian Guerrilla members) in order to better understand their aspirations and needs.
For the past two weeks, I’ve been holding exploratory conversations with the Colombian Agency for Reintegration. The ACR is ascribed to the Presidency of the Republic of Colombia, in charge of coordinating, advising and executing – in partnership with other public and private entities – the Reintegration Route of demobilised people of organised illegal armed groups.
Adapting the program
Colombia represents a challenge for us. The vast majority of people we need to reintegrate (Guerrilla Army) lack of the education background migrants have in the US and MX, or Syria refugees in Europe.
We found a great solution to adapt the program, by —instead of directly training Guerilla Fighters how to start a business— focusing on training aspiring social entrepreneurs. The training purpose will be to reduce the risk of starting a business and design it in a way that we can provide 50,000 jobs in the next 15 years.
Our experience with company building (with Connovo in Mexico and Polymath Ventures in Colombia) will be an essential asset.
The initiative has also been selected as a finalist for “Bridge to Paris”.
It is a program sponsored by the Entrepreneur Institute, the Franco-Mexican Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Mexico-France Council on Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
If selected, we would gain the assistance of French Government to scale our program in Europe where we will focus on teaching Entrepreneurship to Refugees. This would be a seamless adaptation of the program develop for Migrants and Returnees in US-Mexico.
IV. Call to Action
Our current focus in raising the seed capital to fund the Media Company in US+México.
If you are interested in learning more about this new company or might know someone interested in investing in the future of Hispanic education and entrepreneurship, let us know.
